Captain William Eric Banks, C.B.E., D.S.C., R.N., (17 July, 1900 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

A special entry to the Royal Navy on 25 October, 1918.

Banks was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 April, 1923.

Banks was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 April, 1931.

Banks was promoted to the rank of Commander on 3 June, 1937.

World War II

Banks was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1942.

When Bonaventure grounded on 6 February 1943, a Court of Enquiry faulted Banks.
