Rear-Admiral SIR Wellwood George Courtenay Maxwell, K.B.E., C.M.G., D.L. (11 August, 1882 – 9 July, 1965) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Maxwell was commander in H.M.A.S. Australia before the end of the war.
As a commander, he was appointed in command of the monitor H.M.S. Lord Clive on 15 December, 1920.[1] On 2 February 1922, he became Maintenance Commander on the staff of the Commander-in-Chief at Rosyth.
In February 1925, he was appointed in command of the light cruiser Ceres.[2]
Maxwell was made Captain of Valiant in December 1931.[3]
