Commander (retired) Walter Fitzgerald Smithwick, O.B.E., D.S.C., R.N., Retired (14 April, 1891 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Smithwick was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 November, 1913.

Smithwick was appointed in command of the destroyer Peyton on 5 November, 1918.[1]

Smithwick was appointed in command of the patrol boat P59 on 1 April, 1919.[2]

Smithwick was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 November, 1921.

Smithwick was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Commander on 14 April, 1934.
