Lieutenant-Commander Ruric Henry Waring, R.N. (16 August, 1879 – 15 October, 1914) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Thomas Waring, M.P..
Waring was promoted to the rank of Sub-Lieutenant on 15 March, 1899.
Waring was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 September, 1900.
Waring was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 September, 1908.
Waring served as torpedo officer in the battlecruiser H.M.S. Inflexible from 27 July 1909 to 12 October 1910 and then served in the third class protected cruiser Sapphire until he was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 18 December, 1911 with an increase at rank to occur at age 40.
Waring was appointed to the first class protected cruiser Hawke on 1 August, 1914 and died when she was torpedoed and lost on 15 October, 1914.
