Captain Robert William Dalgety, D.S.O., R.N., Retired (21 May, 1872 – 7 January, 1945) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Dalgety was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1894.
Retired at his own request on 4 May, 1909.
Dalgety was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander (retired) on 21 May, 1912.
Dalgety specialised in minesweeping. He was severely injured by a mine blast at the end of August, 1914, possibly while in command of the trawler Island Prince. He commanded Island Prince until October 1917.
Dalgety was promoted to the rank of Captain (retired) on 11 November, 1918.
