Lieutenant-Commander Robert Edward Meade Harris, R.N. (12 December, 1886 – 29 March, 1947) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Bury St. Edmunds, Harris was the son og Colonel J. E. Harris.

Harris was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 39 June, 1909.

Harris was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 June, 1917.

Post-War

Harris was appointed in command of the destroyer Vancouver on 30 November, 1918.[1]

Harris was placed on the Retired List due to non-service on 20 August, 1929.

World War II

Harris was appointed to Victory on 31 August, 1939 for the Contraband Control Service Base Weymouth. On 8 October, 1941 he was appointed to duty on the staff of the Flag Officer in Charge of Southampton, temporary.

He reverted to the Retired List on 25 August, 1943.
