Captain (retired) Robert Amcotts Wilson, D.S.O. (25 June, 1882 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Wilson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1903.
Great War
Wilson was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1915.
Wilson was awarded a D.S.O. for his services in connection with the destruction of the German light cruiser Königsberg on 6 and 11 July, 1915.
Wilson was investigated by a Court of Enquiry on 4 November, 1916 probing deficiencies in stores of H.M.S. Mersey. He was found remiss in not resolving the matter earlier, and that his employment of a G. Goodman, R.N.R., as captain's clerk contributed to a breach of King's Regulations
Wilson was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 23 September, 1920.
Wilson was promoted to the rank of Captain on 25 June, 1924.
