Captain (retired) Reginald Arthur Norton (28 October, 1873 – 13 March, 1939) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of R. Norton, Esq., M.P..

Norton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1895.

Norton was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1907.

Acting Captain Norton was faced with a shell room fire aboard Caronia on 26 October 1915. The Admiralty expressed its appreciation of Norton's "conduct on that occasion (he put the fire out by sitting on it)." The Board stated that this should be brought up when he was next considered for promotion.

Post-War

Norton was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Captain on 28 November, 1919.
