Vice-Admiral Raymond Fitzmaurice, D.S.O., ( – 25 October, 1943) was an officer of the Royal Navy during the First World War.

Life & Career

As a Lieutenant in April 1913, he was awarded an aviation certificate, having flown a Short biplane out of the Central Flying School in Upavon.[1]

Fitzmaurice was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1918. He commanded several of the dreadnoughts in the 1920s.

In May 1925, he assumed command of the battleship Resolution.[2]

In March 1926, he assumed command of the battleship Iron Duke.[3]

Also in 1926, he assumed command of the battleship Marlborough.[4]
