Ralph Collins
Rear-Admiral (retired) Ralph Collins, C.B., R.N., (17 February, 1877 – ) was an officer of the Royal Navy during the First World War.
Life & Career
Born in Reading, Collins gained seven months' time on passing out of Britannia.
Collins was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1899.[1]
On 31 December, 1911, Collins was promoted to Commander.[2]
Collins was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1917.[3]
On 24 April, 1918, he was appointed captain of Arrogant.[4]
Post-War
On 19 May 1919, he was appointed in command of the light cruiser Carysfort.[5]
Collins was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 25 July 1922 and was subsequently promoted to Rear-Admiral (retired) on 25 March, 1929.[6]
World War II
Collins worked in the Observer Corps, starting in 1939.[7]
