Life & Career

Francklin was the fourth son of Mr. and the Honourable Mrs. Francklin of Conniston, Notts.[1] He gained eleven months' seniority upon passing out of Britannia in July of 1889.

On the occasion of the coronation of King George V, Francklin was promoted to the rank of Captain dated 22 June, 1911.[4]

On 27 February 1913, Francklin was appointed in command of the armoured cruiser Suffolk.[5]
