Commander (retired) Percival Scott Rickcord, R.N., R.A.F. (14 February, 1879 – 31 DEcember, 1936) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born on Malta the son of Valentine Rickcord, which is curious, as it appears that Percival was born on Valentine's Day.

Rickcord was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1901.

Rickcord was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 June, 1909.

While in command of the monitor M.24, Rickcord was mentioned in despatches for carrying on "a spirited action" with four German destroyers on 26 May, 1917. Captain (D), Sixth Destroyer Flotilla Percy Withers would note of Rickcord in September, "good offr. in normal times but loses control of himself in time of stress."

Rickcord was placed on the Retired List on account of age with the rank of Commander on 14 February, 1924.
