Commander (retired) Montague Wriothesley Noel, (12 November, 1892 – 6 April, 1941) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Son of Admiral Francis Charles Methuen Noel. Married to Christabel Florence Arthur Startin. Had four children. Joined Royal Naval College, Osborne in the September, 1905 intake term.

Awarded the Royal Humane Society's Bronze Medal for lifesaving at sea. He would add a clasp to it in December, 1917.

Noel was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 April, 1915.

Noel was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 October, 1923.

Noel was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 21 January, 1926.

World War II

Commanded yacht Anna M[illeg] from 1940 and is presumed killed in command.
