Commander (retired) Mervyn Boyd Alexander-Sinclair, (15 August, 1894 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Captain Edwyn Sinclair Alexander-Sinclair.

He served in Orion from mid-1914 until being apointed to Rifleman on 15 December 1914. He transferred to Mindful some time in 1915 and was re-appointed in her upon being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 July, 1916.

On 27 December 1917 he was appointed to the battleship Royal Sovereign where he remained until being assigned to the destroyer Whitley on 5 January, 1920.

Alexander-Sinclair was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 July, 1924. He again served in Royal Sovereign from 10 August, 1926 until 15 September 1930.

Alexander-Sinclair was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 15 August, 1937.

World War II

Various service appointments, e.g., Maintenance Commander, Granton.
