Commander (retired) Leonard Ernest Pearson, D.S.C., (19 December, 1886 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Pearson was promoted to the rank of Mate on 18 December, 1913. On 27 August, 1914 he was appointed to the gunboat Moth. On 16 December 1915 he was appointed to the minelaying submarine Seal.[1]

Pearson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 18 April, 1916.[2]

On 31 May, 1916 he was appointed to the Victor of the Fourth Destroyer Flotilla. Though the flotilla was represented at the Battle of Jutland, Pearson was surely not a participant in the battle, as Victor did not sortie with the formation that day. He left the ship when she paid off on 24 March, 1917. After one month in Recruit, he was appointed to the destroyer Milne on 29 April, 1917. An appointment in command of P17 for 9 May, 1917[3] was cancelled, and Pearson continued to serve in Milne until 19 March, 1919.[4]

Pearson was appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boats T.B. 33, T.B. 34 and T.B. 35 on 5 August, 1920.[5]

Pearson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 18 April, 1924.[6]

Pearson was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 10 February, 1927.[7]

World War II
