Lawrence Percy Philips

Lieutenant Lawrence Percy Philips, R.N. (26 December, 1860 – 7 November, 1888) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Philips was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1883.
On 30 September 1885 he was ordered to H.M.S. Excellent to qualify for gunnery lieutenant.
His service record becomes a sea of hospitalizations from September 1886 when he was sent to Haslar Hospital. He was reported fit on 9 April, 1887 and sent to a troop ship.
From July to November 1888 he served in Black Prince and Shannon for gunnery duties.
While its nature was never specified, Philips ill health must have overtaken him, as he died at 3am at the Convalescent Home in Nathmullen from peritonitis.
