Rear-Admiral Julian Francis Chichester Patterson, O.B.E. (6 May, 1884 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy

Life & Career

He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 January, 1904. In the annual manoeuvres of that year, he was given command of T.B. 27 and incurred Their Lordships' displeasure by colliding with a steamship. Perhaps as a result, it was recommended him "for gunnery duties in a small ship."[1]

He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 January, 1912.[2]

Patterson was appointed gunnery officer of Orion on 3 January, 1914, remaining in that position through 1917.[Citation needed]

He was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1915.[3]

He was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1921.[4]

He was appointed in command of the battlecruiser Hood on 27 April, 1931.[5]

He was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 11 October, 1933.[6]
