D'Arcy was appointed in command of the depot ship Hecla of the Fourth Destroyer Flotilla on 18 December, 1912.[6]

He was appointed in command of the light cruiser Dartmouth on 10 August, 1913.[7]

Post-War

D'Arcy was appointed in command of training school Fisgard and as Inspecting Captain of Mechanical Training Establishments on 31 December 1918.[8]

D'Arcy was promoted to Rear-Admiral on 2 May, 1921 and placed on the Retired List at his own request the next day. He was advanced to the rank of Vice-Admiral on the Retired List on 8 July, 1926.
