On 1 March, 1917 Seddon was sent to Canada for special service, but in April he was sent to the United States to work under Commodore [[Guy Reginald Archer Gaunt|Gaunt]].  He stayed there until being appointed to {{UK-ArkRoyal}} for No. 2 Wing on 23 September.  On 13 October, he was appointed in command of the seaplane carrier.

Commander (retired) John Wilfrid Seddon, R.N. (13 October, 1886 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Painswick, Gloucestershire the son of Reverend W. H. Seddon.

Seddon was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 September, 1907.

Seddon was granted the acting rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 24 June, 1914. He was made a Squadron Commander on 1 July, 1914.

Seddon was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 September, 1915. Seddon was promoted to the rank of Wing Commander on 30 June, 1916.

On 1 March, 1917 Seddon was sent to Canada for special service, but in April he was sent to the United States to work under Commodore Gaunt. He stayed there until being appointed to Ark Royal for No. 2 Wing on 23 September. On 13 October, he was appointed in command of the seaplane carrier.

Seddon was placed on the Retired List at his own request upon his relief on 10 August, 1920. He was promoted to the rank of Commander (retired) on 13 October, 1926.
