Sub-Lieutenant John Preston Churchill, (21 November, 1883 – 18 March, 1904) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Orford Churchill.

Churchill was promoted to the rank of Sub-Lieutenant on 15 September, 1902.

Churchill died on 18 March, 1904, in the submarine A 1 when she was run down by the liner Berwick Castle, becoming along with Lieutenant in Command Loftus Charles Ogilvy Mansergh one of the first two Royal Navy officers to die in a submarine accident.
