John Pratt de Montmorency

Captain (retired) John Pratt de Montmorency, C.M.G> (2 August, 1873 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Reverend W. de Montmorency of Ireland.

De Montmorency was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in June, 1895. In August, he was appointed in command of a Torpedo Boat, but its exact identity is not made clear.

De Montmorency was promoted to the rank of Commander in December 1905.

De Montmorency retired at his own request on 17 March 1910 with the rank of Captain (retired).

After serving quite actively as a Transport Officer during the war, he reverted to the Retired List in July, 1919.
