Commander John Philip Holroyde Oakley, D.S.C.* (5 December, 1917 – November, 2003) served in the Royal Navy as a submariner during World War II.

Life & Career

Born the only son of Dr. Philip Douglas Oakley.[1] Oakley was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 January, 1940.[2]

Oakley was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 January, 1948.[3]

Oakley was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1951.[4]

Oakley retired on 13 April, 1959.[5]
