Admiral John Corbett (15 July, 1822 – 10 December, 1893) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Corbett was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 4 May, 1846.
Corbett was promoted to the rank of Commander on 20 February, 1852.
Corbett was promoted to the rank of Captain on 10 August, 1857.
Corbett was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 20 April, 1875.[1]
Corbett was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 2 August, 1879.[2]
On 30 October, 1884 he hoisted his flag as Commander-in-Chief, the Nore. On 1 July, 1885 he struck his flag in Duncan on being superseded.[3]
In 7 April, 1885 Corbett was promoted to Admiral.[4]
On 15 July 1887, Corbett was retired on account of age.
