Vice-Admiral John Borlase Warren, R.N., Retired (27 March, 1838 – 29 January, 1919) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Warren served in gunboats on both days at the bombardment of Sweaborg.

Warren was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 19 May, 1859.

He was promoted to the rank of Commander on 24 July, 1871.

Warren was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1880.

He was appointed in command of the second class battleship Rodney on 29 October, 1889.[1] He would remain in her command during the Annual Manoeuvres of 1890, during which she was part of Fleet 1, which was playing the role of the Royal Navy fending off attacks on British trade routes.[2]

In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 22 February, 1870, he was placed on the Retired List, dated 27 March, 1893.
