World War II

Mudford was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1939.[6]

He was appointed in command of the shore establishment H.M.S. Cochrane, vice Coltart, from 8 March, 1946 to 1 October, 1947 and also as Senior Officer, Reserve Fleet, Forth Area, vice Oddie.[8]
