Commander (retired) Jack Ernest Albert Mocatta, D.S.O., R.N. (24 April, 1887 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Paddington.
Mocatta was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 October, 1909.
Mocatta commanded the destroyer Nicator at the Battle of Jutland as part of the Thirteenth Destroyer Flotilla.[1][2]
Mocatta was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 October, 1917.
On 6 September, 1918, Mocatta was appointed in command of the destroyer Whitley.[3]
Post-War
Mocatta was placed on the Retired List at his own request with a gratuity on 22 April, 1920.
Mocatta was promoted to the rank of Commander (retired) on 24 April, 1927.
