Admiral Irvine Gordon Glennie (22 July, 1892 – 8 September, 1980) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Glennie was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 April, 1915

Glennie was appointed Lieutenant in Command of the destroyer Nepean on 19 March, 1918.[1]

Post-War

Glennie was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1928.

Glennie was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1933.

World War II

On 3 May, 1939, he was appointed in command of the battlecruiser Hood.[2]

Glennie was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 15 January, 1941.

Glennie was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 31 December, 1943.
