Life & Career

Jefferson served in Orion from mid 1913 before being assigned to T.B. 36 in August, 1914. In mid October he left the torpedo boat due to illness and was appointed to Forth for training in submarines on 3 November. Jefferson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 January, 1915. On 18 February, he left Forth and was appointed to join A 5.

General service in submarines tender to Dolphin commenced from 22 September, 1915, but in November he was assigned to E 43. Jefferson was finally given his own command when he was appointed to C 34 in March, 1917.
