Hugh Merriman Barnes

Captain Hugh Merriman Barnes, (21 March, 1893 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Edward B. Barnes, Esq., solicitor.

Barnes was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 March, 1916.

Barnes was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 March, 1924.

Barnes was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1930.

Barnes was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1937.

World War II

Barnes was placed on the Retired List as medically unfit on 2 October 1945.
