Commander (retired) Hugh Coningsby Johnson, R.N. (3 June, 1883 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Captain Samuel Arthur Johnson of the Royal Navy.

Johnson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1904.

He was diagnosed with gonnorrhea in 1911.

Johnson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1912.

Johnson was hospitalised several times in 1916.

In August/September 1916, he was in command of a Sweeping Flotilla whose number is not entirely legible.

Johnson was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Commander on 19 August, 1926.
