Commander (retired) Hugh Barrington Worsley, D.S.O. (17 February, 1883 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Worsley was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1904.[1]
Worsley was appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 8 on 19 October, 1909.[2]
Worsley was appointed to the battleship Bellerophon on 10 October, 1911. He left the ship upon going to half pay on 31 July, 1912.
Worsley was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1912. On 19 February, 1913, he was appointed to join the old Lord Nelson Class battleship Agamemnon of the Second Battle Squadron.[3]
Great War
Lieutenant-Commander Worsley remained in Agamemnon until 1 February, 1918 when he was appointed in command of the gunboat Bramble.[4]
Interbellum
Worsley was superseded in command of Bramble by Lieutenant-Commander John Walter Rainier on 4 January, 1919.[5]
On 1 February, 1920, Worsley was appointed to Hermione, additional, for charge of minelayers moore in the Hamble River. On 1 April, he was appointed to Sir Hugo for a group of Racehorse sloops.[6]
On 4 August, 1920, he was appointed to be Divisional Officer, Galway, vice May. On 10 July, 1922 he went to unpaid time until being appointed to Pembroke Royal Dockyard, additional for duty with the Captain of the Dockyard on 22 January, 1923. He was superseded on 24 February, 1925.[7]
World War II
