Rear-Admiral Henry Venn Wood Elliott, R.N., Retired (5 May, 1859 – 3 January, 1932) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 29 June, 1883.[1]


He was promoted to the rank of Commander dated 25 May, 1897, for his services in the Benin Expedition.[2]


He was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1904.[3]


In December 1905, he assumed command of the destroyer Encounter.[4]

He was appointed in command of the battleship Hannibal on 11 August, 1908.[5]

In accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 22 February, 1870, he was placed on the Retired List on 5 May, 1914.[6] He was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on the Retired List dated 9 June, 1915.[7]
