Commander (retired) Henry Leslie Spofforth Baker, O.B.E. (10 May, 1900 – 2 August, 1961) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Solicitor H. M. Baker (d 24 Dec 1916).

In February 1919 there was a Court of Enquiry into the collision of boats from Commonwealth and Tintagel. Baker was cautioned to be more careful in future.

Baker was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 September, 1920. In February 1922 he was admitted to hostpial in Cologne following injuries.

Baker was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 September, 1928.

Baker was promoted to the rank of Commander on 10 May, 1945.

World War II

Lent to Royal Hellenic Navy.
