Captain (retired) Henry Francis Howard Wakefield, R.N. (1 February, 1880 – 6 September, 1933) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Barnes, the son of clergyman Henry Russell Wakefield.

Wakefield was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1902.

Wakefield was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 April, 1910.

Wakefield was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1914.

Wakefield was appointed in command of the destroyer Maori on 12 January, 1911.[1]

On 3 December, 1913, Wakefield was appointed in command of the destroyer Lysander.[2]

Wakefield was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 12 November, 1920 and was promoted to the rank of Captain (retired) on 1 February, 1925.
