Rear-AdmiralHenry Clive Rawlings, C.B., D.S.O. (20 March, 1883 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Rawlings was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1905.[1]
Rawlings was appointed in command of the destroyer Bittern on 17 June, 1909.[2]
He was appointed in command of the destroyer Alarm on 1 April, 1912.[3]
Rawlings was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 April, 1913.[4]
Great War
Rawlings commanded the destroyer Minion when it operated with the Eleventh Destroyer Flotilla at the Battle of Jutland.[5]
Rawlings was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1917.[6]
On 24 October, 1918, Rawlings was appointed in command of the destroyer Vanity.[7]
Post-War
He was appointed in command of the submarine Sturgeon on 11 January, 1921.[8]
Rawlings was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1925.[9]
Rawlings was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 19 June, 1936.[10]
World War II
Rawlings was appointed to Drake additional as a Commodore of Convoys, Second Class Template:RNR on 3 September, 1939. In 1942 he was working with the Liverpool Convoy Pool.[11]
In 1942 he was appointed in command of the Royal Naval Air Stations in the Indian Ocean.[12]
On 4 May, 1943, he was awarded a C.B. for his services in the Allied landings in North Africa.[13]
