Commander Harry Anthony Pownall Glossop, R.N., Retired (14 January, 1873 – 4 October, 1918) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Glossop entered Britannia in January, 1886 after placing sixteenth in order of merit of the forty candidates for naval cadetship that were accepted for acceptance following a round of examinations in late November, 1885.[1]

Glossop was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 October, 1894.

Placed on Retired List at own request on 29 June, 1912, Glossop was promoted to the rank of Commander (retired) on 14 January, 1913.

Glossop reported to the Navy Office in Ottawa for duty in August, 1914.
