H.M. T.B. 64 (1885)
Builder: Yarrow & Company[1]
Ordered: 30/31 March, 1885[2]
Launched: 1885[3]
Completed: September 1886[4]
Wrecked: 21 March, 1915[5]
H.M. T.B. 64 was one of 53 first-class torpedo boats of the 125 Footer class.

Service

Ran ashore while adjusting her compasses at Grainshore on 5 July, 1888. She was towed off by the Template:UK-1Locust with serious damage to propellers. To compound this, she subsequently rubbed against her rescuer, damaging some plating.[6]

As preparations were underway for the Annual Manoeuvres of 1893, T.B. 64 collided at full steam with the second class protected cruiser Medea as she was leaving the basin at Chatham Dockyard on 11 July. 64's bow was smashed and she proceeded to Sheerness for repairs; the cruiser was holed.[7]

She was stationed in Chatham in 1895 as one of eight large torpedo boats of at least 125 feet length and two smaller ones.[8]

She was to participate in the Annual Manoeuvres of 1896, but may have scratched.[9]

Around 1906-1907, with the issuance of torpedo boat numbers to the first of the Cricket class torpedo boats, the existing Torpedo Boats numbered 25 to 79 had a "0" prepended to their number. This vessel, therefore, became T.B. 064.[10]

Wrecked while serving in the Aegean on 21 March, 1915.[11]
