H.M. T.B. 4 was one of thirty-six first-class torpedo boats of the Cricket class.

Originally named H.M.S. Sandfly, her name was changed to Torpedo Boat No. 4 in 1907.

Service

T.B. 4 joined the Sixth Destroyer Flotilla of the Dover Patrol in March, 1915. She and T.B. 15 would remain in this employ to the end of the war.[7]

On 7 November 1916, two men were drowned, the body of one not being recovered.[8]

T.B. 4 suffered an accidental explosion that killed fourteen of her crew on 26 May, 1917. The cause and location of this mishap are unclear.[9]
