H.M.S. Walpole was one of twenty-one "W" class destroyers completed for the Royal Navy in 1917-18.

Service

Walpole commissioned on 11 July, 1918.[8]

She was re-commissioned at Port Edgar on 27 September, 1923 to serve with the Sixth Destroyer Flotilla as part of the Atlantic Fleet.[9]

She was re-commissioned at Chatham on 1 January 1929 to serve with the Sixth Destroyer Flotilla as part of the Atlantic Fleet.[10]

Walpole was re-commissioned at Chatham on 24 April, 1931 to contine to operations with the Sixth Destroyer Flotilla as part of the Atlantic Fleet.[11]
