H.M.S. Volunteer was one of fifteen destroyers of the Modified "W" class.

Service

Volunteer was commissioned on 27 October, 1919.[8]

She was re-commissioned at Devonport on 8 October, 1923. By March 1925, she was with the Fourth Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[9]

She re-commissioned at Devonport on 29 April, 1926 for continued service in the Mediterranean with the Fourth Destroyer Flotilla.[10]

The ship was re-commissioned on 21 August, 1928.[11]

She reduced to special reserve complement oat Devonport on 2 May, 1931.[12]

Re-commissioned in Reserve at The Nore on 19 February, 1932.[13]

Commissioned with a Reserve Complement on 29 July, 1933.[14]
