H.M.S. Viscount was one of twenty-five "V" class destroyers completed for the Royal Navy in 1917-18.

Service

Viscount commissioned at Portsmouth on 13 August, 1920.[7]

She was re-commissioned at Chatham on 15 September, 1924. By March, 1925 she was with the Second Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[8]

Viscount was re-commissioned at the Nore on 27 May, 1927 to join Second Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[9]

The ship was re-commissioned at Chatham on 10 December, 1929 once again to work with the Second Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[10]

She was paid off into the Reserve at Chatham on 12 April, 1932.[11]

Re-commissioned on 14 March, 1934 for duty with the Sixth Submarine Flotilla.[12]

She commissioned at Chatham on 24 September 1936 to serve with the Sixth Submarine Flotilla.[13]
