H.M.S. Urchin was one of sixty-two "R" class destroyers completed for the Royal Navy in 1916-17.

Service

In July, 1917, Urchin was ready for service and was assigned to the Thirteenth Destroyer Flotilla, assigned to the Grand Fleet.[8]

She was relegated to reduced Complement on 8 February, 1919[9] and in the March, 1919 fleet reorganization, Urchin was moved from the 13th to join the new incarnation of the Fifth Destroyer Flotilla.

Urchin reduced to Reserve on 11 May, 1922.[10]
