H.M.S. Tobago was one of sixty-seven "S" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy as the Great War was ending.

Service

When Commander Lionel George Dawson travelled to Invergordon to join his new command in February, 1919, he stopped by his club and picked up "a silver rose-bowl, and other articles for the ship, subscribed for by the inhabitants of the islands of Trinidad and Tobago." When the ship was mined in the Black Sea in 1921, these items would make their way to the naval depot at Malta, Egmont.[6]

Tobago paid off on 15 December, 1920.[7]
