H.M.S. Thistle (1899)

H.M.S. Thistle was one of four gunboats of the Bramble class completed for the Royal Navy about the turn of the century.

Service

In 1913, Thistle was part of the China Squadron.[3]

She re-commissioned at Gibraltar on 31 January, 1925 under Lieutenant-Commander John Rodolph Peronet Thompson.[4]

In March 1925, she was ordered to return to Devonport to pay off in preparation for sale after many years on the West Coast of Africa as a station gunboat alongside H.M.S. Dwarf.[5]

She paid off into Dockyard Control on 30 July, 1925.[6]
