H.M.S. Thetis was one of 21 Apollo class second-class cruisers completed in the early to mid 1890s.
Service
In earlier 1894, it was ordered that she would be one of four cruisers to have her old pattern 6-in guns replaced by new quick-firing models.[7]
Commissioned at Portsmouth 1 August, 1907. In mid-1913, operating with Second Fleet's Minelayer Squadron.[8]
Distinguishing Signs
In March 1914, the ship was (as was Skipjack) to carry one red band on first funnel and one white band on after funnel.[9]
