H.M.S. Spenser was one of five flotilla leaders of the Shakespeare class.

Service

Spenser commissioned on 1 December, 1917,[5] becoming the flagship of the Tenth Destroyer Flotilla.[6]

She would remain there until March 1919, when she was placed in the retooled Second Destroyer Flotilla.[7]

Equipment

In 1919, she was selected to receive one of the first five Renouf Torpedo Tactical Instrument Type As.[8]
