H.M.S. Serapis (1866)

H.M.S. Serapis was one of five Euphrates Class iron screw troopships completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

In December 1873 while transitting from Suez to Gibraltar and beyond, Serapis suffered two collisions. One was with S.S. Paladin of Glasgow. Another, on the 13th, was with S.S. Poe from Buenos Aires.[1]

Commissioned at Portsmouth on 2 October, 1876.[2]
