H.M.S. Racehorse was one of forty destroyers of the "C" class — a "30 knotter".

Trials

Racehorse completed her steam trials on 17 December, 1901. On her full-speed trial she obtained 30.354 knots on the measured mile, and averaged 30.345 knots over three hours.[8]

Service

In mid-1913, Racehorse was active with Sixth Destroyer Flotilla — a patrol flotilla.[9]
