H.M.S. PC 56 was one of twenty "PC" class patrol boats built for the Royal Navy.

The boat was sometimes referred to as P 56 or PQ 56 in contemporary documents.

Service

At some point in her service as a Q-ship, "PC 56 was fittted with a rather convincing false bow that converted her appearance to that of a merchant steamer; the lines aft were less complete in their disguise.[5]

Recommissioned on 13 January, 1920.[6]
