H.M.S. Orwell was one of twenty-four "B" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy — a "30 knotter".

Service

On 30 January, 1903, Orwell collided with the third class protected cruiser H.M.S. Pioneer in Corfu Channel while under the command of Lieutenant Percy Arthur Robarts. Two men were killed in the collision and a further thirteen drowned.[8]

In mid-1913, active with the Seventh Destroyer Flotilla.[9]

Dates of appointment are provided when known.

Some Lieutenant & Commander "John W. Pugh" was appointed on 21 November, 1906, but I cannot determine exactly what his full name is.[29]
